Since his studies at Goldsmiths College in London in the late 1990s, Gary Webb has been known for his hybrid sculptures in which historical, cultural and material references are combined with great freedom. Characterized by their unexpected and contrasting compositions, his works are half abstract and half figurative, both geometric and organic, blending modernist references with kisch decorative motifs. His sculptures constitute a surprising sum of the means of industrial and artisanal production of our time and the care taken in their assembly and finishing are not foreign to the production methods of contemporary design objects.
