Chill Ruby Red consists of a glass panel made of two layers of vertically ribbed annealed glass that encompass a combination of colored PVC filters. The association of the glass pattern with the colored filters creates iridescent effects and deep changing colors. As one moves around the work, the ribbed surface reflects the light at different angles, creating extreme variations in colors. The work belongs to Ann Veronica Janssens’ ongoing series of “gaufrettes” which highlights the pictorial materiality and spatiality of color.
